Heating and cooling help, by phone
Say what the system is doing and roughly when it went in. Nothing is booked until you say so, and the call costs nothing.
(888) 217-3739No obligation for the call.
What a heating or cooling call turns into depends on how the house was built and on how long the heating season runs where it stands — and the first of those changes street by street. That is why this site is organised by town rather than by region.
Work down to where you are: state, county, town, and then the job you actually have.
What is the system doing?
- The license
- Held by the contractor rather than by this site, and issued where the work happens — some states license heating and cooling contractors, some leave it to the city, and some require no license for the trade at all. Ask for the number and the name it is held under.
- The figure
- Set by the contractor and said before the work starts. This site never quotes and has no part in it.
- The call
- Describing what the system is doing commits you to nothing. Nothing is booked until you say so.
- Coverage
- By town, not by region. Pick a state below and work down to the town you are in.
What a technician needs to know first
What the system is doing, how long it has been doing it, and roughly when the equipment went in. The last one carries more than it sounds like: it decides whether the part is still made, whether the repair is worth the money against a replacement, and which refrigerant is in the lines.
The rest is detail that can wait for the visit. Nothing is booked on the call unless you say so.
