A phone number and a set of pages that try to tell you something true about your town before you use it.

Where the pages come from
Every town page is built from public data rather than written from imagination, and three sources decide what a page says.
The American Community Survey (five-year estimates, U.S. Census Bureau) gives the housing: when it was built, whether homes are detached or share a wall, how much of it is manufactured. That decides where the equipment stands and what the ducts were sized to carry, which is what the town pages are about.
NOAA station normals give the length of the heating season — how many nights a year fall below freezing, and how many below 20°F. That decides which half of the system is the main one, and it is the difference between a furnace that runs from October and one that is asked for something six weeks a year.
July dew point is the only part of the climate that varies independently of the first. It decides whether an air conditioner is fighting heat or fighting water, and those are different faults with different fixes.
Three things are deliberately absent. There is no page that claims to know which contractor will answer, because the network decides that at the moment of the call. There is no county-level weather, because within a county the July dew point varies by about a degree and the hardiness zone not at all. And there is no license directory, because some states license this trade, some leave it to the city, and some do not license it at all — so the pages say how to check rather than what to believe.
No prices, no ratings, no reviews, and no claims about response times appear anywhere on this site, because none of them could be substantiated.
