The county decides paperwork rather than weather. Replacing a furnace or an air conditioner usually needs a mechanical permit, issued locally: one town inspects the work, the next takes the contractor’s own sign-off, and a third wants the gas line looked at on its own.

Ask for the number and the name it is held under: a trading name and the licensed entity are often not the same.
